In the second quarter of 2025, the roguelike genre on the Android platform in New Zealand showed interesting trends, as captured by Sensor Tower data. Here’s a look at the performance of the top five games in this category.

Hero Wars: Alliance from NEXTERS GLOBAL LTD experienced a fluctuating revenue pattern, peaking at approximately $3.5K in mid-May. Weekly downloads saw a decline over the quarter, starting at around 798 and dropping to 244 by the end of June. Active users also decreased from 2.1K to 1.8K during this period.

Cup Heroes by VOODOO maintained a steady revenue stream, with a slight peak at $375 in late May. Downloads began at 808 in early April and declined to 282 by the end of the quarter, while active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 3.7K to 3.8K.

Top Heroes: Kingdom Saga from RiverGame showed a significant increase in revenue, reaching nearly $4.9K in early June. Downloads were more variable, starting at 483 and ending at 305. Active users saw a modest increase, peaking at 2.6K before settling at 2.2K.

Archero 2 by Habby had a notable revenue peak of $3.7K in late April. Downloads decreased from 540 to 162 throughout the quarter, while active users followed a similar trend, starting at 1.6K and ending at 1.2K.

Lastly, Wittle Defender, also by Habby, debuted in June with a revenue peak of $1.1K by late June. Downloads started strong at 1.1K but fell to 273 by the quarter's end. Active users showed growth initially, peaking at 1.3K before declining to 710.
